The mission of Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church is to praise God through worship and service and lead all people of Christ. We believe this should be done by studying, teaching, and preaching the bible. We believe in prayer, spiritual nourishment, and the Christian lifestyle. Our mission is to move toward perfection in Jesus Christ.

  Welcome to Trinity where the Spirit of the Lord is always in the process of giving us a faith lift. We are committed to serving this present age through worship and ministries that empower and alter lives as well as conditions. Trinity has a rich historic past in the business of being about liberation. Trinity has continued this journey throughout the years by being on the cutting edge and doing ministries that have produced leaders from the city, nation and the A.M.E. Zion Church. For almost one hundred and twenty-five years, Trinity has lifted the banner of Zion in Washington. We are proud of our heritage as an African Methodist Episcopal Zion congregation. More than two hundred years ago, the fathers and mothers of our Zion established this church as the “Freedom Church,” refusing to allow discrimination and injustice to define their being. Out of this spirit of freedom and protest, the A.M.E. Zion Church is deeply rooted in five continents. We have given the world such notables as Sojourner Truth, Harriett Tubman; Bishop James Varick, founder; Frederick Douglas, Bishop Alexander Walters; Bishop Jacob Walls, Bishop Stephen Spotswood; Mayor Carl Strobes; Congressman Louis Stokes; Coretta Scott King, Joseph Charles Price; Bishop J. W. Wood, just to list a few. At Trinity, we are engaged in a variety of ministries that empower children, youth, young adults and adults as well as ministries that extend beyond our walls. Our worship is dynamic, engaging and spiritually uplifting. We view ourselves at the cutting edge as we embrace the concept of being a church of the community. It is our belief that the entire village must be saved. Trinity is the place to be where the ground is fertile for your continued growth.
